Bat Removal And Control MN
There are seven species of bats that are native to Minnesota: the Little Brown, Keen’s Little Brown, the Big Brown, Pipistrelle, Silver-haired, Red, and Hoary. All of these species are insect eating. They are between 3-6 inches long, have a wingspan of between 9-15 inches, and weigh between 0.2 to 1.1 ounces. The Hoary bat is the largest found in Minnesota, and the Pipistrelle is the smallest. The Little Brown bat is the most common species in the summer. The Big and Little Brown bats are colonial species (they live in groups) and are the ones most often found residing in bat houses. During the summer bats have their pups; usually one or two during June or July. Since Minnesota can get very cold in the winter, most bats will migrate south to warmer climates or hibernate until the weather is warm again. Read the rest of this entry »

Use caution cleaning the area to avoid contracting histoplasmosis. Histoplasmosis is a respiratory infection caused by inhaling fungal spores which may grow in bat droppings. This fungus is widespread in soils throughout the world.

Humane Wild Animal Removal For Squirrels In Minnesota
March 30, 2010
Nuisance Animal Trapping and Control In Minnesota
Nuisance animals are basically animals that are not wanted in a given location, but who are treated a little differently than the vermin we call “pests.”
Whenever possible, nuisance animals are captured and humanely released unharmed in a suitable area. Sometimes this isn’t possible, such as when a trapped animal is sick or injured. But the goal is to trap and release the animal unharmed, far enough away that it will no longer create a nuisance animal problem.
Some of the more common nuisance animals we deal with are squirrels.
Squirrels are higher-class rodents than their closely related but less popular relatives, the rats.
There are many species of squirrels, but the gray squirrel is one of the more common ones. Most times, squirrels don’t cause any problems. They live in trees, eat nuts, and don’t bother anyone. Some people even consider them cute.
But that all changes when they decide that your house is a better home than a day in a tree. When squirrels get into attics, they can contaminate the home with their droppings and parasites, cause a fire risk when they chew on wires, and damage siding, sheathing, and roofing by their clawing and chewing.
Squirrels can gnaw their way into just about any type of opening or if they get their heads through the rest of the body will follow. They are every similar to rats and mice. But the squirrel is usually the one who will make the hole and the rats will utilize the entrance. Some of the most favorite living spaces that the squirrel will take up residence are soffit gaps, roof vents, fireplaces, chimney flues, and they love when there’s loose siding to crawl around. They gnaw into a roof’s overhangs, gable, shingles, and where 2 roofs meet. If a squirrel senses a void beyond an area, it will gnaw and gnaw until that area becomes accessible. This relentless gnawing can cause damage to your property and home. Once a gap is created and a squirrel gains entrance into your home, or attic, it can quickly alert other squirrels of its find through smells. The smell of a squirrel’s urine and feces rapidly attracts other squirrels to the area. Just like that you have a squirrel infestation. Scratching and gnawing noises in your once silent house take place after that, as well urine and fecal contamination of the accessible areas.
Because of the squirrel’s talent in climbing, it makes it all the more easier for them to invade your home!
Squirrels are a hording creature that among other places, will store their cache of nuts in your attics, chimneys, and wall cavities. Once your home has been breached by these rodents it becomes their official home base. In today’s society, squirrels have become less fearful of man, and have no problem living along side them. Once one of these rodents gets cozy in your attic or walls, they can do A LOT of damage resulting in thousands of dollars in repairs. The hole that the squirrel creates to gain access in your home then becomes a gateway to other creatures such as rats, bats, insects, and honeybees. Once this “base” is formed, these creatures will continue to return, year after year, until something is done to halt their entrance. On top of them creating a gateway for other creatures to enter by, it also creates possible leak issues in the future that you may be completely un-aware of!
A Wild Animal Control Specialist can save you the trouble and money that these rodents create, and handle the problem for you. They are trained professionals who know how to seal up these openings, and rid any unwanted visitors from your home wherever they happen to be hiding. Remember, it’s also safer, and a much better idea to let professionals handle something like this. The misconception of these creatures being nice and cute gets a lot of people injured. They WILL bite, and once this happens, other health issues need to be tended to.
Why Use Green Pest Control In Minnesota?

Why Use Green Pest Control In Minnesota?
Why Use Green Pest Control?
There has been growing concerns with the practice of routinely using pesticides where we study, eat, work, and play as to whether this is the best approach to controlling pests. In 1995, Congress defined integrated pest management as “a sustainable approach to managing pests by combining biological, chemical, cultural, mechanical and physical tools in a way that minimizes economic, health, and environmental risks.”
We, as a society, have become increasingly sensitive to our environment and less willing to accept health risks, even very small ones, from contaminants in the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe or in the buildings we occupy.
These concerns are changing the way we live. Pest control, too, is changing with the times. What was common and accepted practice a decade ago, is no longer seen as acceptable to many people. A new approach to pest control has evolved. It is called integrated pest management or IPM. It reduces the risks from pesticides and improves the quality of pest control. A concerned public is asking, and sometimes demanding that IPM be used instead of traditional pest control service, particularly in sensitive sites such as schools, hospitals, and restaurants.
We can handle your entire problem from start to finish, starting with removing animals humanely all the way through repairing their damages and preventing it from happening again. We are flexible to work with and affordable, making the process as easy as possible for you. We also have technicians whom have extensive backgrounds in construction and/or home repair.
At Minnesota Wild Animal Management, we are experienced and trained with the removal of all your pest or animal problems.

Have You Been Hearing Noises in Your Walls or Attic?
Part 5 of Wild Animals In Your Walls or Attic
The most common type of complaint in the field of wild animal control is that of animals living in the attic. People hear the scratching, chewing, scampering, and walking noises up in the attic, often at night, and thus call a professional. If you do hear noises in the attic, it’s probably one of five species:
Other Animals: Stray cats will sometimes live in an attic as well. Bats are very common, but people don’t often notice them until the colony becomes very large and vocal, or until the odor becomes overwhelming. Birds also live in attics from time to time. Whatever the animal is, a wildlife professional can easily determine the species – if it’s not spotted outright, there’s plenty of evidence left behind! – Trails, footprints, droppings, chew marks, and more.
If you are experiencing problems with uninvited wild animals give your local Animal Management experts a call. Though not common, these animals can carry rabies which can be fatal to any mammal. Another problem is getting these animals out of tight areas. Sometimes their young can be in very precarious places and difficult to remove.
Calling Minnesota Wild Animal Management ensures humane and effective removal of wild animals. We can remove the animals and ensure they will not return.
At Minnesota Wild Animal Management, we are experienced and trained with the removal of these wild animals.

Part 4 of Wild Animals In Your Walls or Attic
The most common type of complaint in the field of wild animal control is that of animals living in the attic. People hear the scratching, chewing, scampering, and walking noises up in the attic, often at night, and thus call a professional. If you do hear noises in the attic, it’s probably one of five species:
Opossums: These opportunistic marsupials often live in human structures, under sheds and houses, and they also often live in attics. Just as with the other animals, a female with young is most likely to choose to live in the attic. Possums, equipped with their opposable thumbs, are great climbers, and can easily get onto the roof to their entry point. Possums do not live in attics as frequently as these other animals, but it does happen from time to time.
If you are experiencing problems with opossums, give your local Animal Management experts a call. Though not common, these animals can carry rabies which can be fatal to any mammal. Another problem is getting these animals out of tight areas. Sometimes their young can be in very precarious places and difficult to remove.
